Hi, I'm Volpeon!
I'm a 30-something-year-old software developer with a passion for vector art and a fascination with creatures.
Being a software developer is both my profession and a hobby. In my spare time, I like to work on whatever projects I feel like doing, including the website you're looking at right now. I'm especially interested in functional programming languages such as Haskell or Koka. At work, I'm mostly restricted to TypeScript and the usual CRUD application projects.
I've always had a creative streak. I drew a lot as a child and liked to work on graphics and user interfaces ever since I was a teenager. I discovered vector art only a few years ago, shortly after I had become a software developer, and found a fantastic creative outlet with so much potential to learn and have fun. It's been my new primary hobby since then.
Most of my art is fueled by my fascination with creatures; with animals, dragons, werewolves, and generally those leaning more on the animalistic side who feel distinctly nonhuman. I even wish I was one of them myself, but, alas, all I can do is pretend. You may have already seen at least one of my two characters on this website: Volpeon, a wyvern, and Areon, a werewolf-like alien. They're reflections of me, different but equally meaningful.
